I test drove a 2016 S550 5.0 6 speed with GT performance package today

And man, those things are quick!!! White with the black premium wheels, Pirelli P zero tires, brembo brake upgrade along with the Torsen 3.73 rear axle. Although I haven't driven a stick in a while, over 2 years, and that was just on test drives, haven't driven a stock regularly in over 8 years, the clutch feels nice and it shifts smoothly, esp under wide open throttle when you are rowing thru the gears. Let me tell you, you will easily be doing 100+ and not notice it until you look down. The reverse lockout had me confused for a bit because my sales person didn't tell me exactly how that worked. One thing I wish is that it sounded better stock. I've heard before that the sounds of a hemi are the best on the market. Although mustangs exhaust have always sounded better than pretty much any other v8 out there to me, the actual sound of the hemi is much better. But overall, it's a really solid car and extremely fun to drive. Wish we could have come to an agreement on the price, cause if so, I would be a mustang owner as we speak. Definitely puts me in the market for a used 15 5.0 though or a leftover 15 that a dealership wants to unload as the new model years come in.

Thought he was talking ab a MB until he put (or I kept reading to) the 5.0 six speed. The MB S550s have a seven or eight speed auto transmission.

I had a 15 GT auto for about 8 months. Nice car, great interior. Sounded like shite stock though.

I'm kinda disappointed in the power of the '15 GT I bought my kid a couple months ago. It puts up similar stats to the '10 Camaro 2SS that I had a few years ago and my 911 that I had the past couple years, but both of those cars just felt a lot faster. It might just be that my Vette is so freaking fast that everything pales in comparison. The Vette just seems like a rocket compared to the 'Stang and will give you whiplash when you punch it. Also might be that all of my cars were manual, while the GT is auto with paddle shifters. But even the Camaro would put you back in the seat when you gunned it, and the GT just feels like it lacks the power. I'm glad I decided on the manual for my Vette though after using the paddle shifters in the GT. I came REAL close to getting the auto, but went with manual at the last minute. I hope to drive a Z06 at one of the exotic track days at NOLA soon - the Vette is so incredibly powerful, I just have to see what another 200 hp feels like in the Z06.
