Of course I'm getting ripped on my neighborhood facebook group for my description of the perps and methodology of stopping the crime.

I figured I'd let y'all have at it too. Go ahead, overanalyze as well...

quote:

I busted 2 burglars last night in the backyard of (Address removed). I share a rear fence with the house from (address removed) as our backyards connect with each other.

I was standing alone in my backyard last night at 1:30 AM when I noticed movement in the backyard of (address removed). Which is weird because I rarely see anything going on over there. Within a few seconds I observed two light skinned individuals dressed in all black with hoodies up sneaking around and peering into the various windows in the back of the house. They didn't know I was watching. My phone was inside, so instead of blowing my cover to retrieve my phone, I snuck right up to our shared chain link fence and shouted with all my ability, "HEY!!! WHAT THE F@*% DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!?!" to scare them. They took off, but one looked in my direction and again he was light skinned. Either white or high yella. Both lanky males based on body type.

When they took off, I ran back through my house, grabbed my pistol and phone, dialed 911, so it was ready but did not press the call button. I walked around the corner to (address removed) with a flash light and checked in between houses, a low lying ditch on the West side of (school removed) playground and under vehicles. No sign of the perpetrators.

If you live in the area and have cameras, we may be able to identify a vehicle. My cameras face our street so I did not get any video to help.

Again, this occurred at (address removed) near the corner of (streets removed). Any help is appreciated.

Stay safe and vigilant.

So, we're still saying 'high yella'?

...ain't that saying something without saying anything at all.

quote:

Me: seriously though. I apologize if I offended you. I don't know how else you describe "Possibly mixed, asian, mexican, or eskimo, but definitely not black".

quote:

you could've just said what you did in this comment (except omit the term E***** as it's actually a slur).

I am guessing that "high yella" is going to be the source of the reply rumblings.

You shouldn’t have referred to them as, “big lipped sneaker enthusiasts breathing all the white man’s air!” Apparently that’s offensive, who knew?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure “high yella” is no longer an acceptable nomenclature.

Guilty. I was about to go to bed, so I went to mark my territory.

Gotta love how people care more about an off-color (ha) turn of phrase than about a burglary being prevented. Quintessentially current year America.

The only time I have ever heard the term "High Yella" was from a black person.. As well as the term "Red Bone"..
