That would be me as well. It takes just a few seconds and I feel like I made a difference...even though I know I probably didn't.

Not only do I cut them, I do it in a way that it is still one whole piece of plastic but has no loops for animals/fish to get stuck in. Been drinking Dos Equis 4 packs of 16s from da Rouse lately since Mardi Gras.

Weird. I cut one apart just the other night before putting it in the trash and told my bro the same thing as to the reason why I do it. From what I remember it was a shot of a dolphin with one of the plastic holes around its snout

An image like this more or less

I just bought 3 big packs of plastic straws. Those new paper ones suck. Actually they don’t suck, they’re terrible.

Not as necessary as it used to be fwiw. LINK

quote:

-All plastic ring carriers are made from a special low-density polyethylene plastic, which is 100 percent photodegradable.

-Exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays causes the rings to weaken and become brittle. Wind and rain will break up the brittle carrier into small pieces.

-When exposed to summer sunlight, a photodegradable plastic ring carrier will begin to lose its strength in a short period of time and become totally brittle in about three weeks. This process takes longer in cloudy, cold winter weather.

- Once a ring carrier has been weakened by ultraviolet rays it poses minimal risk to wildlife. Since the carrier floats, photodegradation occurs on water as well as land.

Ring carriers must be Photodegradable by law: *Degradable Plastic Ring Carriers Federal Law 40 CFR Part 238

No but my dog just showed me this thread. I might have to start doing the same thing.
