It's not waiting if you don't know you're doing it.

Then why the frick can't you tell her?
Better yet, why the hell didn't you talk to her about it before you quit?
How does your wife not know that you went for an interview?hiring process.

So do you and your wife not communicate at all? It seems like she would know that you have a new job and need to quit the old one.

ETA: All this.

If the new job pays more, tell her now, but if it pays less, wait until after the vacation is over. That what I would do.

are you slow or something?

why the frick wouldn't you tell her now?

If you have been in the process of looking for more work, found one, interviewed, and went through all the other bullshite to land it, how the frick doesn't she already know?

I don't understand this thread's point at all

Don't ever tell her. This whole "not knowing anything about each other's life" seems to be working

yes, i did mention but nothing was concrete. i told her that i would probably wait until we got back and put in my 2 weeks notice.

tell her now. my money is on the fact that she will probably be annoyed that she wasn't kept in the "job change" loop, anyway.

The opportunity to tell her will present itself. You'll meet another couple at dinner or something. There'll be some chit chat.

Other guy's wife: So, animalcracker, what do you do for a living?
animalcrackers wife: Oh, he's a [insert thing].
animalcrackers: Actually...

Your wife doesn't need to know everything in your life

Everyone needs to have some secrets

Then fricking tell her now.. If she was aware of the possibility the. This should be a celebratory move not something you need to hide for some reason.. Seriously, this doesn't seem that complicated.
