Twitter is the ultimate social media cancer. Its ridiculous.

You just have to remember a large part of the country is censored there, so you're basically getting a caricature of life.

Newsflash: Facebook is the worst abuser of tracking you and shoving their content in your face, not just just on their app/website, but also everywhere after that, moron.

Twitter is awful. It can be curated to only see things you find interesting or educational but the comments are still toxic. It's a cesspool of trolling and "who uses the strongest language wins" regardless of the validity of the argument made.

I tell my 71 yr old parents this alllll the time.... stop watching the national news.

That's all my parents do with television. My mom literally watches 4+ hours of news per day, local and national. They have got her shell shocked from the virus - she was one of the first in line to get vaccinated and STILL refuses to go outside to eat, shop, etc. Hasn't been to a restaurant in well over a year, hasn't been shopping anywhere aside from the local grocery, hasn't done jack shite except buy groceries and sit at home. When they go through a drive thru she's wearing a mask and gloves. It's really sad how warped her thinking is and it's because she does nothing but sit in front of the tv hearing about how bad the outside world is, meanwhile the rest of us are going about our daily lives. Hell, i'm in the middle of chemo treatment and still go out to eat, shopping, etc - I've tried time and time again to get her out of the house but she flat refuses.

Facebook is toxic, Twitter is toxic, and majority of news is toxic. You have a smartphone for emergencies. Bad shite happens when guns and people are involved. Murder has been around since Caine and Abel. Bad shite happens don’t flood your brain with it daily.

Absolutely right. I deleted Facebook this week. I sat there last night as my wife watched a movie on her phone. Impossible to communicate. I’m not sure how to fix that. Maybe lead by example?

I'm with you. Haven't ever watched national news except back in the Headline News days, but refuse to watch any news. I have convinced my 82 yo farmer neighbor to do the same and he reports he's better off. Yeah I know, stick your head in the sand and all. I vote and participate in local politics.

I do have Facebook and post family happenings as we are scattered all over. I keep up with old friends. It's thru Facebook I found out about an awesome annual crawfish boil in my hometown of Charleston SC...yearly friends and I reconnect. I've silenced the friends who post any political crap a long time ago.

An old, blind beagle wandered up on our place yesterday. My wife made a quick Facebook post to the nearby town group page and the owner was over here in 30 minutes to pick him up. So there is some value. Never tweeted, don't care.
