It’s usually about the basic necessities of life wrapped around right vs. wrong. And it removes the ambiguity, lies and confusion found in the modern world. It’s the allure of a simpler time.

Now, back to watching Rooster Cogburn.

And stay of my lawn!

There's only two genders son.
No confusion necessary.

The same reason we like dumb shite from the 80’s. It lets us relive our youth.

Hated Bruce Dern ever since he shot that guy and said to tell them his name was Stokely.

Hated all Stokely’s since that Gunsmoke episode, as well.

In the real Western frontier, there was just as much gray as in modern times. The puzzle wasn't simple it just had different pieces. You are correct that the period movies from the bygone eras often portrayed good and evil as digital but it has always been analog just like today.

I've always been a fan of westerns. Especially Eastwood's work.

I agree on Bruce Dern . Always a jerk and bad guy. Maybe played his parts too well.

Oh damn, I didn't know about it but just found it. Loos good. Thanks

I watch Starz Encore Westerns sometimes, though they'll show a lot of the same movies for long rotations - like other movie channels, I guess.

Since seeing Harrison Ford in cowboys and aliens I always wished he would have been in a calvary or civil war movie.
