I get Bruno was and still is tied to a personal injury firm. Just odd and In my opinion dumb to make it so known you're in the pocket of trial lawyers.

Everything about a judicial campaign is a tremendous conflict of interest, and honestly, downright disgusting.

Bruno is by far one of the best judges at CDC.

Yep

He reads everything, knows both sides of the arguments, is generally intelligent, and asks lots of questions. He can be prickly but really all you can ask for is preparation.

Judge Bruno is a solid state court judge (and a bright spot in the CDC). He is very good in cases that he is familiar with (accident, asbestos, etc.). And he really tries to get it right in cases he is unfamiliar with. I respect him as a judge.

Sidenote: Bruno & Bruno is one of the best plaintiffs firms in Louisiana.

Big case against Motwani over a property neither would want post Covid.

But as suggested, it was Bruno talking down to everyone. He treats everyone like shite. No, it's not like a federal judge. It's like a disgruntled member of a PI family who got the burden of being sent to the bench.

Supposedly he's acknowledged this is why he's in this predicament.

It's a brilliant form of advertisement. Prospective clients see that and figure Morris Bart must own the judges so that would give him a leg up over other firms.

Oh wow. Okay. I trust your opinion.

As in, the family made him run? More or less?

I’m just really suspicious of anything SDT after the Latoya thing.

Family definitely made him the sacrificial lamb.

While he does rule in a far more reasonable fashion than the majority of the bench, looking down on everyone and letting them know it is something he can't avoid. My first time before him, I was wondering whether I had flipped him off in traffic on the way to court or something. Bizarre.

I just saw the results from the CDC elections and saw that Judge Bruno lost. Judge Bruno was an excellent state court judge - especially in the CDC. I don’t know anything about the winning judge, but I did not realize Judge Bruno’s seat was truly in jeopardy. Who is Sidney Torres and what was his role in this election?

I think he’s a good and bright judge.

CDC is a mess.

He only rubbed me wrong once when confirming a default. I had testimony and he seemed to be pissed off that it was taking a little long to establish chain of custody of a note. He interrupted my questioning of the witness, and said when are you going to ask “........”

It was the next question coming out of my mouth. He seems impatient and it pissed me off, but he granted my judgment.

He will be missed. I’m shocked at what is allowed to run for judge.

Bruno and Ervin-Knott are the only two judges worth a shite at CDC. They are both good for the same reason - they are prepared.

Well, that and I’ve always been suspicious of the shady stuff around his greenway housing development in latoyas district where he got to skirt required low income units that are required under his density variance in exchange for funding a mortgage program at liberty bank

That’s not on the billboard. It’s a little sign that Bruno carries around with him.

Lawyers usually pay long term for board. Then they will lease or donate the space to others.
