Just to piss of Schwartz, I'm going to buy a bottle of Four Roses and make a giant Old Fashioned with it.

Yes.

If you are trying to flex your baller muscle, go with the McAllen 25.

Gotta say I've never seen a bigger pissing contest over something that's supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing.

Was it when I called him "a pretentious, ignorant douche bag" or when I told him "everybody here wishes your mother would've chosen to abort" or perhaps when I told him "nobody likes you"?

I used to use the single barrel to make my old fashions...very good if you ask me. Also I bet buffalo trace is a good one too and easier on the pocket.

No price limit at all.

The Macallan 25 is probably a little too high, but The Macallan 15 is a good reasonably priced scotch. Lagavulin is another good scotch that is reasonably priced. No sure about bourbon as I am not much of a bourbon drinker. I drink Woodford Reserve, when I drink bourbon neat, but I would not really consider that a premium bourbon.

you called me a douche bag. if you can't handle being called names, you probably shouldn't call others names.

i'm not sure what your personality disorder is, but there is something wrong with you.

Let's see, I called you douchebag (pretty tame for the OT btw) and your reaction was to explode with the "ignorant" and "pretentious" and then follow that up by saying everyone wished my mother would have aborted me. Can you not see how you totally overreacted there?

And yet you're trying to say I'm the one who can't handle being called names? You're right, someone here does have a disorder and it's you.

I'm done with this discussion.... you're out of your mind.

If you are going to mix it, I wouldn't recommend going above Maker's Mark quality.

If you are going to drink it straight, I would start off with Blanton's. It is really smooth and is a great way to ease into bourbon.

If you are thinking about trying a scotch, a couple of my favorites are Balvenie 12, Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask, Dalmore 12/15, or Macallan 12/18/CS.

Also, drop a few ice cubes in there if you want. The world won't stop spinning and no sane person will judge you for it. Just give them a try neat beforehand.

I was joking. He said those things about me, not the other way around. He called me arrogant for disagreeing with him, I called him a douchebag and at that point he lost his mind.

I have never heard of that before. We should probably hang out and slow burn some hickory while we read leatherbound historic manifests about discoveries of science and diction next to a crackling fire while our majestic dogs rest on the rich mahogany floors and ladies dance.

I know he sounds like a "too good for certain people" douche

All good choices. Here are a few others...

Balvenie has a Doublewood 17 - very nice.
Glenrothes Select Reserve is good.
Laphroaig 21 or 25 is good also (an acquired taste)
Dalwhinnie 15.

3 finger pour - 3 cubes of ice. All you need.

If you're just starting down the scotch trail - try Glenlivet.

Blends - Ballantine's has a good one.
