Avoid GE. I bought a highly rated model last June and it's already had its mother board and door switch replaced. Dishes never come out dry even on the high-heat dry setting.

Looks like I may be getting the Bosch 800 with the controls on the front. Thanks for all the help.

On our second Bosch. Don't know the model no. but it has 2 drawers rather than 1 large door opening. Don't remember what was wrong with the first one but my bride had to have it replaced. Both had a problem with a leak or drip at the door that required service calls. Very quiet though.

Found out my dishwasher motor had a problem this afternoon. An hour later I bought the Bosch based on repair guys recommendation.

Replaced a POS Maytag with a Bosch and couldn't be happier.
Very quiet and cleans well.

I sell appliances, Chicken. Get the Bosch 800 series... For everything. Cooktop, wall oven, etc. buy it all. As leader of the OTers everywhere, buy two of each and keep one on your private Island.

Bought a SS Samsung two years ago. Quiet and cleans well. Considered Bosch BTW... 600-1000 dollars you cant make a bad decision. They all are quiet and good.
