I work in IT with software engineers and programmers and this always goes over big getting passed around at white elephant xmas parties.
Should be a hit with traffic engineers too, if your HR dept isn't gay.

My personal favorite, a set of 5 point sockets.
Don't say anything, let them think they got an awesome, handy new thing. Suggest they keep it in their car for an emergency.
It is a patient man's satisfaction because you have to wait for them to use it and realize it is completely useless for nearly everything.

$25 in scratch offs...it’s something people in that profession would never spend money on but it’s fun and they’ll enjoy it. I’m in accounting and it’s always a hit.
