4 years ago, after 33 years in LA, I moved to WA...never looked back. Other than not getting a good shrimp poboy, no live oaks draped in Spanish moss, no more trips to Tiger Stadium or Alex Box...I don't miss LA one bit.
What part of Washington? I visited there last summer. We rented a place in West Seattle near Alki Beach. Talk about perfect. I could never afford to live there though.
It’s beautiful country up that way.

I work in Seattle and live outside of the city on some acreage (deer, bears, coyotes, etc. are regular visitors). Love the city, love the weather, love the year-round recreational opportunities (can be on the slopes 45 mins after leavimg my house). I have visited 49 of the 50 states and have lived in 7...would not want to live anywhere else.

What’s your commute like?

I move back this summer after 5 years in the Midwest.
I'll take Louisiana's problems in return for some fricking personality.

Well, not ideal! I telecommute as much as possible, but when I go in to the office it is 90 minutes door to door...most of that on a bus so I can work on email or read TD. I actually do not mind the commute, but it makes for long days (6 am to 8 pm).
I lived in the city my first year and loved it...walk to everything...10 min bus ride to work. I wpuld go weeks without driving a car. However, we have always preferred living in rural areas and commuting in to cities. The benefits far exceed the cost.

I haven't read more than the first page yet and I'm just wondering how long it takes Nurse to post in here about how much LA sucks and how much better Arizona is.
Definitely by the end of the 3rd page, I figure..

I haven’t read the thread either but I’m willing to bet she and Roger have already posted on the first or second page how happy they are leaving La, but they just can’t stop posting on a La based message board.
It’s weird.

Martini lashed out at us last night on food board. It was hilarious.

Different strokes I guess. Not everyone likes the same things. I had one sister that left Louisiana the day after she graduated LSU. My younger sister will never leave.
Some people value the physical beauty of where they live, others like big cities, others being close to family. It's not a one size fits all world.

Nurse grew up in a trailer park in North Baton Rouge and went to Glen Oaks high school
I can understand why she hates La.
Now she’s just as miserable living in Az, that’s why she keeps coming back to an La based website. I don’t think she’ll ever be happy.

Yeah that would be a shitty upbringing. I think she went to Scotlandville Magnet though. I only remember because we are the same age and my buddy went out with Stormy Daniels a few times

Maybe so, but she never really “lived” in Louisiana, especially not long enough to hate it as much as she does.
I just get her hate for it so much.

As obsessed as you are with giving me shite all the time...you would think you would remember things.
I've never lived in a mobile home in my entire life. Grew up in a house in NBR.
And I sure as hell didn't go to no ghetto arse Glen Oaks high school. I went to Scotlandville Magnet High School...which when I went there was one of only 2 magnet high schools in Baton Rouge. I've mentioned this a million times on here(especially since I went to high school with and knew Stormy Daniels....we also rode the same school bus until I got a car).
You love to over exaggerate things on here. That or your memory is failing you as you age.

I grew up in upper middle class in Central. I loved my childhood. It was Mayberry in the 80s.

Stephanie didn't look anything like she does now in HS.

So you don't think living in Baton Rouge for 27 years counts as "long enough"? I moved out of NBR when I left for college. Never lived there again. Lived in various parts of BR (near LSU, South BR, etc).
Louisiana hasn't done shite for me. It represents memories of some of the darkest days of my life. It has taken 2 homes from my parents. frick Louisiana. There is nothing positive for me in Louisiana. Nothing.
Only reason I still post here is that I like the message board format.
