didnt make the cut

ETA: now that I think about it, 190 would probably be a soft 4 or hard 5.. I admit I was a little off

For some reason I keep my grandpa's old school Ping Zing 3 iron in my bag.. Don't have the heart to take it out I guess.. I hardly use it unless I'm punching out from under the trees

Congrats, I had the same thing happen to me last year at Oak Harbor. Pin cut right behind the big bunker on #7, couldn't see the hole from the tee. Knew the shot was right at it but driving up didn't see it in the trap or on green so I immediately went to the back side to look there, group on 8 tee yelled at me to look in the hole. Rest of the round went to shite after that.

I'm not very long with my irons and I usually hit 6 or 7 iron from that distance

First off, my irons are close to 20 years old, King Cobra II's, so its not the same distance that modern clubs provide. I was hitting my shots 20-30 yards farther using some new taylor mades at a demo earlier this year.

Um hitting your 7 iron 190 yards is long, even with modern clubs

Correct. So we know he isn't aware of how far he actually hits his clubs.

ETA: Just saw the ETA...

That's 4-5 iron territory for me.

Congrats on the ace, I've never come closer than 2' on any par 3 I've played.

I'm aware of how insanely lucky I am, never have been very close when the ball stopped, but I've rolled a couple right past the pin.

That is a really good shot into all that wind.

How'd you do at Firestone this weekend?

Is it that hard to think someone could do that? Hit a 6 190?

6 is what I would have gone with...

Not that crazy...

No. But the people that choose to comment on someone's club selection on a hole without knowledge of the conditions or the clubs used is generally indicative of a distance exaggerator. Especially one that "isn't very long with their irons".

Yes. I CAN hit a 7 iron 190 when conditions are right, but I don't tell people that's what I hit.

Also, I find the 15+'s don't realize their game improvement clubs are all de-lofted as a way for the club companies to say they'll "add 10 yards to your 6i". There's a reason these sets are GW-4i and not PW-3i

I've lipped out twice, hit the pin once, and flew it into the lip once.

I'm cursed, congrats a-hole
