Is that a pileated woodpecker?????? If so I had one on my trail cam right behind my house middle of the day. I knew they were kinda rare but didn't think they are that rare.

pileated woodpeckers are not rare at all...the picture he posted is an ivory billed woodpecker...there have been no confirmed sightings since the 1940s...

1944 to be exact and in the Northeast corner of Louisiana
Since then there have been a number of unconfirmed sightings made by reliable sources in a flyway that stretches from the Pearl River swamp up to Northeast LA and in to the deep swamps of eastern Arkansas
