Change the socks out if you don't want her to be completely turned off by your 1992 fashion sense.

Son of a bitch. You're lucky I have to work in the morning. I live 2.5 miles from Sloss. I definitely would have signed up to watch this shite.

If she runs it in 31 shes probably wide enough to draft off of. Tail her the first 2 miles then burn it down for the remainder of the race.

Bottom of shorts. You’re gonna want to use shirt to wipe sweat out of eyes unless you wear a headband.

Belly area of shirt- If you’ve never run
before, and we know this to be true, the number on your shorts is gonna bother the hell outta you.

So lying was your first choice? Hmm

Well, bro...
since you asked, I haven't really run very many 5Ks.
Most of my timed runs were just 3 miles (Marine Corps PFT runs.)
Perhaps that last tenth of a mile is incredibly tough?
I didn't bother to count how many 3 mile runs I did, but only once over the course of 3 enlistments did I record a time greater than 24 minutes.
Several of my runs were under 19 minutes but I could never get that perfect score - 100 points for 18:00 or less.
The one run over 24 minutes was due to a slight injury that I did not go to medical for and thus did not have an light duty chit to avoid the PFT.
Regardless of my past running history, if I trained 4 days a week for 2 months to run a fricking 5K, I would damn sure be able to finish it in under 26 minutes!

Ssubba, you've got this!
Mind your pace for the first 2 miles, then stride it out the last mile.
Make sure you keep breathing fully and don't start taking short gasping breaths!

He'd best not be drinking a bunch of coffee.

Just run as fast as you can in the beginning, that way you can get a head start and relax the rest of the race.

It helps to smoke or vape a little cannabis beforehand. It takes the edge off and you can get into a mental zone allowing you to finish in desired time. Also, you might even spit some game at the lady friend.
Keep the eye on the prize. Aim small, miss small.
