I mean if it was me, I'd just use the fact that my wife's sister was there with her to go have some fun on my own during vacation.

Maybe for the portion of vacation he was gonna be home he had planned to do some stuff around the house and having family staying with them kinda messes that up.

Just saying....we don't know the full story to properly judge.

When you married your wife her sister became part of your family. Family gets to inconvenience you, it's what they do. This is an awful lot of crying over such a minor inconvenience.

Go see the BIL and tell him how excited you will be to get to screw his wife since you have always wanted her. If he gets pissed then take care of him and the SIL will take care of you. If he gets jealous he will come get her

The weirdest part of this thread is everyone being focused on the average amount of pto this guy has.

Yeah frick that. I'd rather pay for a hotel than let my wife's sister and her kids stay at my house. My wife would feel the same way.

I'd be worried about my job security if I were able to take a month off. Hell I can't take a week without answering phone and emails

Once you enter mgmt in some finance firms, you have to take 2 weeks off for that very reason. They want to see performance remains the same with a manager missing. and they also do a mini audit to make sure that the manager isn't doing anything unseemly with money that pass through their team.

Point being, while it may seem you couldn't take a week off, you actually could.

Pics of your wife & S-I-L needed to agree or disagree.

Seriously, agreed except probably a short-term rental apartment (for week(s) or a month or two).

Let them have the luxury of not being so pressed for time (to be out of that place quickly) and for me it would be more cost-effective. It's a crappy time, especially for kids.
