Try not to take it. That stuff was meant to help ease pain after a surgery, not for long term pain management.

I think he knows that which is why he asked the question. Take them as needed, which means when you're in severe pain. If you don't need them, don't trust the doctor, or don't trust yourself then don't take them. The problem comes from people abusing them and then pill mill doctors refilling their prescriptions. Take them sparingly as needed, you'll be fine.
