Personally if I was in your spot I would consider Texas or TN or parts of Alabama. No one has issues in these spots. Or actually don't. I do not need more people in TN

Fricking insurance companies...not willing to take on insane levels of risk. Can't they just print money line the government?

Look I get it, but my policy is up in June, they could’ve given me a better time line to look…

Mason went out of business like many other boutique homeowners writers. Next time go with a reputable carrier.

Right. Taxes, weather, and insurance should be forcing everyone out of LA. I like the TD people but man things are only gonna get worse. 20 years from now the sea level will be another couple inches higher. Weather is going to displace more people and the worst people. Just absurd to me why anyone would even consider living there.

No they didn’t… and it was a wind and hail policy, not homeowners..

Are they no longer writing new business, or no longer writing policies at all?
If the former then as long as you don’t change anything you should still be covered. The latter, well that’s your fault for trying to get the cheapest insurance.

It has happened to everyone who had Geo Verra. My agent told me it was happening before Geo Verra did. For the time being I'm through Louisiana Citizens for wind and hail. Farm Bureau for homeowners (basically fire).

Sounds like some dude named Mason writing policies on his Macintosh in his moms garage and collecting checks in the mailbox.

Just got a letter this evening saying they were no longer writing policies in Louisiana.
And they weren’t the cheapest… They starting writing policies after the La Citizens BS…. I had Allstate, and sold my house with the original wind and hail. When I purchased my new house, Allstate dropped my wind and hail, and I had to go through La Citizens..

I have them too, leaving LA soon, going back to Texas and never looking back.

Louisianas Home insurance market is dwindling to almost a Florida like situation. All you guys saying why would you buy these no name companies clearly don’t live in the south part of the state as there aren’t a lot of option. Second by far and way the most complaints to the insurance commissioner is with State Farm. Not even close and is still the largest if you account for market share

Fed Nat bought Maison.
Most companies are running for the hills.
Ones that staying are tightening up underwriting guidelines big time.
It’s all a shite show right now.
Just politely ask your agent to provide all options available.

I have Fed Nat who bought out Maison. They announced in December that they were pulling out of Louisiana, so looks like in October I’ll be back with Citizen’s

At this rate I’ll just pay off my house and not carry insurance. Just self insure.
