I have new respect for dog groomers

I have a little 15 lb wire haired terrier mix that I found a few years back while I was hunting. She is a total douche bag but keeps the rats, moles, and other pests out of the yard. She gets pretty nappy so I normally bring her to get shaved once a year. I decided to do it myself this year.
I never realized how hard it is to shave a dogs arse. She's running around half shaved right now.

I tried to groom my dog once. I could tell she lost a little pride for a few days until I could get her in at the groomer’s.

Smear peanut butter in front of her as you wash/groom her.
Ask your wife/GF, she will know what I am talking about.
All seriousness, that's how we wash our little dog. She does not like baths, but we learned if we smear peanut butter on the side of the sink, she will stand there all day licking it.

She is all knotched up now. I couldn't get the hair to shave smooth. I bought a 50 dollar pair of dog grooming shears and they cut but all uneven.

They also have to pop that arse gland.
Not for me.

getting her to stay still while bathing/shaving her isn't a problem. she won't stand up, though.

I'm going to try this on my big (105 lb) dog next time I bath him. You can't keep him from jumping in to ponds or lakes but he is scared of a hose.

I use to have a toy poodle I had to go get groomed like every 3 or 4 months. He had to be sedated every time because he would flip the frick out and there was nothing that could be done to calm him down either. But seeming the groomers and how they keep the other dogs calm.. It really is kind of impressive.

Lady one time told me they were dog sitting and the dog got massive diarrhea in the crate. Said the dog was covered head to foot in shite. Had to put the dog in a trash bag up to its head and she dropped the dog off at the dog groomers. They said they have to deal with it daily.
It’s a shitty job if you will.

Back in my lsu days I got home and the whole house smelled like shite. I went to check on my roomies dog and i'm pretty sure he had pressed his arse hole to the door and sprayed diarrhea all over the bedroom. I closed the door and stuck a towed under it and let my roomie take care of it.

I just groomed my daughter's Yorkie/Cairn Terrier! Not a fun job. I used my husband's shears then cleaned it up with scissors! A little choppy, but he'll be cooler this summer!
