Yes, I'm sure. His girlfriend is gorgeous.

More like a dwarf. I had to spend a lot of time looking for arm hair and Adam's apples on chicks in Denver.

Parents group? WTF is this? You guys all comparing what little Johnny and Susie score on their ACT and what scholarships they’re offered? Sounds like a helicopter parents wet dream.

Colleges should stand on their own and not on tax dollars. It’s just another form of welfare.
This is exactly correct. The only reason it’s so expensive is because of student loans, Pell grants, and all the other giveaways. Thank you to our pandering politicians.
There are WAY too many people going to college now. More than half of them don’t belong there. But they go because it’s free and our worthless politicians who have made college education a political football and convinced everybody they need to go to college. Not only that, they’ve now made it a “right”. The world needs plumbers too.

Ole Miss, Arkansas, Alabama and the Texas schools have been picking off bright Louisiana kids.
Ole Miss puts a big emphasis on out of state students. It brings in a lot more money obviously. My kids went there and most of their friends are from OOS. Mainly Texas, Florida and Colorado.
The Texas schools are too hard to get into for most students. At UT, you have to be top 5% in your graduating class to even be considered.

I had multiple friends on full rides from out of state, 10 years ago. They had the comparable out of state full rides scholarship that Bama, UGA, UF all gave out as well. It’s the in-state scholarships that are shite. LSU cost me more in state than if I went to Bama. Bama would have been a full ride plus a stipend. LSU I had to pay for everything but tuition

This is ridiculous BS. LSU is a joke now with open enrollment plus crap like this.
Most colleges are competing for the average to get bodies in seats. I would not hold it against LSU in particular.
Wait until the little birth dearth starting with 2008 pregnancy-starts due to the 2008 financial crisis.

Why are they even giving out scholarships to kids without test scores?

At least it seems like LSU is back to focusing on students in the state of LA as opposed to northerners

They looked at me like I had a dick hanging off of my forehead when I asked about children of alumni. She had a little higher than a 4.62 gpa and they said there would be zero incentive to get her to LSU.
UF gave her a yuge discount, that when added with scholarships, amounted to a full ride.

After scholarship, my entire Tulane Law School tuition and fees for three years was about 1/3 of ONE YEAR now. And LSU was even more stark
Right there with you. Four years and 1 quarter to graduate and I borrowed a total of $5K for college. I can’t even fathom what it’s going to cost my 9th grader to attend college in 3 years.

Is this back?
And only my masters degree is from LSU but my kids have received/receive the legacy scholarship.

Meanwhile, tops no longer covers even all of tuition

Is this back? I know 5 years ago when my oldest was looking for a school LSU did not have the alumni discount. My son went to A&M because his best friends wanted to go there. LSU was not a serious contender much to our chagrin.
My Son went to UF for the same reason. LSU was no option because they canceled legacy discounts. UF ended up being free because he earned full Bright Futures.
Poor kid has never experienced a good football team in his adult lifetime as a UF graduate.
