I used to feel this way and I am 67 now. People in their 40s (more than any other age group) measure themselves against other people, as well as measuring your kids against other peoples kids. This goes away after awhile, and turning 60 is really liberating. If you are the type of person who could care less what other people think of you, multiply this x 10 when you turn 60. It's great!

Wouldn't it be two if you are including 2011? Who did LSU beat in those two SEC championships, old man?

improve your diet/fitness and get in good shape, pursue the things that give your life meaning

i’m in much better physical condition at 65 than i was at 46, and fortunately i’ve managed to avoid the major aches and pains associated with my age (my back/knees/hips are all pain free and work as designed)

with kids grown and (mostly) out of the house, i’ve had enough free time to pursue playing music on a regular basis, which has been a real fountain of youth for me

Step one is not being a total pussy about it.

But everyone feels it at times.

I had kids at age 45 and 51. That'll keep you younger or completely wear you out. Or a mix of both. It has way more upside than downside. I stay in touch with music, have an upstairs studio with everything you could need to practice, mix and record. I workout, run, and generally do everything I can to not stand still too long.

I’m 63, so 17 years older than you. Seventeen years ago the Saints won the Super Bowl. Then, BAM, I’m 63. I’ll tell you some good news: Those were sweet, sweet years…and so is this one! Enjoy yourself.

And then there was payback. It got ugly quickly. Jalen Carter hoisted the Heisman. LSU fans left at halftime. Order restored.

You more than likely have more yesterdays than tomorrows.

Based on U.S. actuarial data, the chances of a 46-year-old man living to be 92 are relatively low, roughly in the range of 10% to 15%, as only about 16% to 18% of men survive to age 90, and that probability drops further with each passing year. While the average life expectancy for a 46-year-old man is generally in the mid-70s, reaching 92 requires significantly outliving the average..

Member how Buddy Holly, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the 50s seemed to kids who grew up on the '80s?

That's Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder, Liam Gallagher, Alanis Morisette, Tupac, and the '90s today.

Here's my trick... math your age as your "adult age"... age-18=adult age.

I'm 25.

Wanna really break your own heart?

Figure out if you start making $1000 a day, every day, from now till your 65th birthday, how much money that would be.

Now consider that Micheal Jordan's boat was $8M

Speaking as a boomer in my seventies……

ENJOY THE FIFTIES AND SIXTIES…….

your body doesn’t really scream I am old till the seventies……even in the 70s you can still do everything but you have to pace yourself and realize you are not as strong as you were in your 60s…..and recovery from injury is slow….

I just remember time marches on and there is nothing you can do about that.

What you can do is stay in step with that march. Don’t dwell on it and keep yourself mentally sharp. Continue to learn new things

Keep your body in shape. No joke. The big difference I see in older guys and how they look and feel in there 60 and 70s is activity. Those that keep hitting the gym always are way better off. Never too late to get started on that path if you haven’t.
