Try it when you have kids watching. Stop on a cartoon accidentally and you're fricked.

Starving for quality television programming at a reasonable price.

I find the only good programming on Netflix is stuff they carry from another network. The Netflix originals suck major arse and are always disappointing.

False. I'm sure a good bit of them are pretty mediocre, but they've had some very good shows. I haven't watched a ton of the movies though.

There are plenty of others, but these are just a few off the top of my head that I've seen: Stranger Things, Ozark, Big Mouth, Master of None, Peaky Blinders, You, F is for Family, The Haunting of Hill House, etc.

those are all really really good Netflix originals. and you could arguably add some more. but here's my rebuttal, that monthly Netflix pricing has gone up in the last few years. They state it's to create more and more original Netflix content.

but honestly, even with the titles you mentioned above, the ratio of dumb, meaningless, shite titles they've produced to good titles has gotten worse.

it's a lot dubbed over foreign movies or series, SJW silliness, and Comedy Specials for B, even C level comedians. That's not exactly what I had in mind when I happily agreed to that monthly price increase

I signed up for Hulu last week. No idea why Netflix is still a thing after watching Hulu

There are definitely a lot more. Those are just some of the best ones that came to mind and that I have seen.

I agree to an extent that the quality of the majority of their original content doesn't necessarily justify the increase in price, but that is a TOTALLY different argument. The poster I was replying to said that the only good programming on Neflix is from network television and that the Netflix originals all suck.

For those that have limited time or inclination to watch a lot of TV it tends to be a zero sum game. For people like us that watch a ton of TV it makes more sense to have more streaming services. We have Netflix, Amazon, Hulu along with pretty much every mainstream pay channel along with all the premiums and a bunch of ad-based free apps as well. Netflix still gets a decent amount of play.

The auto preview is a pain but I just hit mute while browsing it is just muscle memory at this point.

ETA one thing Netflix gets right is the ability to skip intros.

Disney + is monitoring this thread. I bet they won't have auto preview.

If you've got time, you can pretty much exhaust all the good content on all the traditional platforms.

You can watch 4 regular "hour-long" TV shows in 3 hours on Netflix or Hulu. That means you can squeeze in 1 or 2 seasons on weekdays alone.

The average American adult watches enough TV per week to consume the entire series of The Office (US) in 2 weeks.

Americans watch nearly 2000 hours of TV a year. You gobble up enough commercial free content and all of the streaming services start to suck.

Orange is the New Black was insufferable before we got the option to skip the intro. That is the worst intro song & imagery in the history of television.
