What did you and your coworkers think when Port Hudson got shut down?

Sorry to hear about that, man...tough times in the paper industry.

Hopefully, they are helping all of you through the severance process by providing assistance in signing up for unemployment benefits, resume writing service, etc.

Crossett heading to Bastrop status. IP closing the mill in Bastrop killed that town.

Very sorry to hear this Hogballs.
I survived the GP layoffs in Port Hudson, but the total outlook for GP's longevity is bleak.
All we have here is negative energy, bad management that's ever changing and workers quiting or retiring in droves.
But at 57, I feel too old to start shopping around for a new job, so I'll ride the Titanic down to the bottom.
I feel your pain man. Good luck going forward.

Process or mechanical? In either case, I’d think you should be able to find something in Texas, either in the Ship Channel/Coastal Bend area or the Permian. And if Louisiana gets a new Governor this Fall that doesn’t hate our industry, Louisiana should boom as well.

I’m so sorry to hear that for all involved. Hoping that you land on your feet and it leads you and your family somewhere positive.
