How many plants are in the area around you? Being in the utilities means you have significant cross over skills

This mill was the life blood of SE AR. Nothing else around here that needs a high pressure boiler/turbine operator. I can either move from my home town or work for peanuts. It’s scary because I haven’t had to look for/apply for/interview for a job in 25 years.

Truth is, he's fortunate his layoff is during the good economy of Trump and not during the 8 year recession of Obama.
The economy is so good here around Baton Rouge that we can't keep good young employees because the chemical plants are hiring them all away.
But that's just facts, and I know liberals have problems with facts.

But seriously think how many days you go through your work day and not print anything. It used to not be possible to do that

you have to understand youre refering to a douche whos sig quote glorifies sexual assault, he always talks about fighting someone, CONSTANTLY lying, bullying , threatening,... its a parody of what he thinks a man is supposed to be.

then when you make fun of him he protests, says the same ol same ol is "lame"

he lives on the taxpayers dime, and thinks its OK to make fun of someone losing a job.

He also posts racist crap all the time and once shot at some kids that we asking for food

I know how it feels
I was part of the Port Hudson layoff
I was only there for 2 years, but I couldn't be happier to be done with GP
The whole company is in a downward spiral
Expect more closings coming

Haven’t looked at anything yet. Went to work this morning like I have for the last 25 years and then BAM.

I assume GP in Muskogee is gonna rebuild after the explosion a few weeks ago? I worked in that power plant a few years before leaving for the big power plant down the road. Was there about 12 years before transferring to one of our other plants north of Stillwater.

I realize it’s terrifying. I’ve never had to live for work before either, but high pressure/turbine boiler operators are needed all over the gulf cost but also needed at any and all power plants. Is there a power plant within 1 hour of you?

Let’s not turn this into an OweO bashing thread please. It’s not fair because he can’t stand up for himself.
