12 months of unemployment and I now have my first big boy job helping the coast guard as a full time rigger and tug boat operator (civilian) . First shift starts tomorrow at 4 am!

Any advice for going from white collar to blue?

This looks like a troll, but I’ll bite.

Bring cupcakes for everyone on your first day

Hand them out and say “Here’s to a sweet first day on the job!”

Find the biggest guy in the yard and punch him in the dick to establish dominance.

How old are you? Make sure you move up in the company and are are in a supervisor position before you hit 40-45 years old. At 50, your knees and back will start going first.

Make sure to remind the others often of your educational background, and use big words.

Also, saying “I’ve done this before” usually reassures coworkers of prior experience.
