He’s 11 and while in good health you start to realize how little time you may have left.

What was once a tedious chore is now something I cherish.

Hug your dogs, mates.

my bud is 11 as well and he has started to get hard of hearing. Rescued him when he was 3 and it’s been a great 8 years. Can only hope he goes on his own before he gets in any pain.

Hope that you have him for another 11 years.

Love my dog!

outdoor board

She's hanging on like nothing's wrong, giving her at least 10 pills a day. Vet gave her 3 weeks. It's been a week and she started eating again. She has lost 20+ pounds over two months. Yet she is still as goofy as ever.

ETA: she's only 6

Lost my old yellow lab a couple of years ago when he was 14 1/2, tough time since he died in my arms. My 10 year old black lab and 4 month chocolate were right there with us. Dogs are truly man’s best friends.

Dogs are the best. Rescued one about 9 months ago. Never realized how much there was something missing in my life until I got that dog.

My aussie turns 12 in a couple months. Last vet visit she looked at him and was like "oh, wow. He looks good, for his age"

But I could see through that bs, he looks like crap compared to a year ago and his time is sooner rather than later

I had the same issues with my boxer a few years ago. He was doing great at thanksgiving and by Christmas he had gone from 80lbs to 50. 2 weeks after New Years he was 35 lbs. Hardest decision Ive ever had to make in my life was to put him down.

My dog is a straight up a-hole. He doesn't listen to anybody, he shits where he is told he can't. He eats cat poop. He fricking tears everything up in the house that he can get his mouth on. He runs me over every chance he gets just because he's big and strong. He digs hundreds of holes in the yard, looking for moles and chipmunks I think. He barks at the wind and anything that moves.

I spend more time with my 3 dogs than I do with people. It’s a choice. Love my pups.

She is going on 10 years old but she has found some of her puppy energy since my son came along. These two are thick as thieves and aggravate the hell out of each other but she doesn't let him out of her sight for long.
