That narrative is controlled by the viewing public. People spent more time focusing on a missing girl from Iowa than they'd ever give to black on black crime. It's hard to blame the media when it's clear the public doesn't care either.

Out of curiosity, I googled "Shootings in Chicago this weekend."

So the only reason you looked up Chicago is to make you feel better about another white male shooting innocent people?

The violence in Chicago is covered on the local news and they have had local protest and demonstrations against it. Some things aren't covered, doesn't mean they don't happen.

For example, a few weekends ago, the police tried to setup a sting operation where the loaded a nike truck with shoes dropped it in the hood and waited for someone to loot it.....local deterred anyone who attempted to go to the truck and criticized the police.

Well fast forward, there was a shoe drive this past weekend where people donated money for shoes to giveaway to the local residents.

Sure folks have outrage. It's just localized. The solution for the crime is not going to be fixed from the outside. It's going to be fixed from the inside. The inside of each family household.
When more families want to raise decent kids, insist on raising decent kids, only then a dent can be made in the issue of the widespread violence.
Quit using the "it's a community problem" as to not raising your kid as best as you can.

It’s liberal hypocrisy. The white liberals don’t have a solution. African Americans won’t snitch. It’s a problem white and black liberals don’t care to solve. Black on black crime is a huge problem but no one wants to address it.

Lakeview resident and I never feel unsafe relative to any other large city. Living in a place as populous as Chicago I just know to be aware of my surroundings as best as I can. The fact that all these br/laffy/nola residents act like they live in some utopia is hilarious. Multiply br shootings by the difference in population with Chicago and the number would be astronomical.

Within seconds, my social media lit up with the typical calls to ban guns, needing stricter gun control, NRA is evil, etc.

Which it turn have the gun/ammo manufacturers licking their chops because this is used as propaganda to boost sales.

Yeah we met a couple from Chicago on our honeymoon a couple years ago. He was fed up with the leadership and shootings then, but still said he felt safe.

I had work training thing with a lot of Chicago guys and that’s generally how they felt. The city is corrupt dump but unless you willfully go into rough areas you will be fine.

It is very comparable to New Orleans and Baton Rouge in that way, who have similar rates of murder.

It's amazing how you not only managed to miss the point, but double down on looking like a complete jackass.

The OT's favorite son, David Hogg, tweets "Jacksonville, we are with you."

I guess he's not with Chicago...

Damn I was way off. Figured the full moon might of bumped up the numbers. Like betting football. I had 50 shootings and something like 20 deaths.

Agreed, A Full moon in August? I'd lost money on that bet.

There should be no confusion. No outrage.

People here often confuse social causes with general give a shite by influencers residing outside the trouble zone. You cannot be naive enough to fall prey to decades old politics.

What we see in Chicago is nothing different than Watts. Cabrini Green. Harlem. 7th Ward. SOC. 8 Mile. They're all buzz words. Captions. Real life, but yeah. Captions.

The sooner people realize red and blue is designed to intentionally devide the better off we'll be. It's all a shite game. Politicians and politics rely on US to argue amongst ourselves to survive. The day not a single one of our dumbasses voted will/should be the greatest day in this countries history.

People get worked up over whatever the media tells them they should get worked up about. Gangbangers shooting each other in a city with strict gun control laws doesn’t fit the narrative.

People that are smart enough to realize what’s really happening typically don’t give a shite that gang members are shooting each other. Unfortunately, many of the victims are innocent bystanders but that doesn’t get nearly the news coverage that it should

Or at least attempts to.

"If it bleeds, it leads" has turned into "If the MSM desperately wants it to bleed, it leads"
