I said the same some time ago and got a load of pushback.
I’ve been saying it for months.
Tesla was undisputed king of the next paradigm in auto tech. The gap started closing a couple years ago and the gap is nonexistent today in terms of things the average buyer cares about.
The two models they have in the pipeline seem like it’s becoming and “id” rather than a “when” they’re actually going on sale.

I looked into a Rivian (knowing it’d be 3 years away) but basically interstate any charging option that’s not the Tesla supercharger network is jaw-droppingly shitty across the south
Maybe it’ll look different in 4-5 years once the IRA funds start kicking into high gear

Some of y’all thinking the housing market is going to just flop and drop like this are crazy.
Yes interest rates are up, and slowing the market, but with low inventory and inflation, people won’t lose much at all if any.
The reality is that unlike depreciation in cars, appreciation in housing will hold. They just better not to expect any return selling less than 5 years after buying.

Lol at being mad at a company for LOWERING their prices.
When you buy a luxury brand at luxury prices you don’t want it becoming more accessible to poors

Yeah auto makers routinely drop the msrp of brand new vehicles over 10k all the time.
An analyst on CNBC (who was somewhat bearish on TSLA) wasn’t surprised at all. According to the analyst, Tesla has a 10 year lead on the other car manufacturers, is making a profit (vs other manufacturers losing money on EV’s), and their margins are 18% vs the industry avg of 8%. Tesla had (and has) plenty of room to cut prices to grab market share.

Their FSD is light years ahead of any other manufacturer.
Mercedes is ahead. They have level 3 autonomous driving. Tesla’s FSD is only level 2.

They were cutting edge in both interior design and in driver assistance. Now they are neither. Their interior design is dated and their “self driving” is no longer superior to the competition.
You have zero clue what you are talking about. My car drives itself on city streets, now. It drives Better than I do to be honest. I haven’t seen any other self driving tech anywhere near Tesla.

Which car is that available in?

Mercedes Drive Pilot system is more advanced.

Eqs and S class. Not sure if you can get it just yet in the us but the system is being reviewed by cali and has already received certification as level 3 in Europe and nevada.
It’s been available in germany for the past year

It’s might be better. When it comes to market we’ll see. Right now there’s only one car that will turn right on red by itself.

I know which I would buy on interior alone.

I’m not 100% but I’m pretty sure drive pilot can do this now.

I don’t agree with this. Their FSD is light years ahead of any other manufacturer. It’s one of their biggest differentiators followed by long term battery performance and supercharger access.
Road and Track certainly doesn't share your opinion;
I just logged hundreds of mellow miles in a GMC Sierra Denali equipped with Super Cruise, convinced more than ever that GM’s hands-free driving tech is unsurpassed. How the worm has turned: While I was capital-C Cruising in New England, watching the Sierra pull off fully automated passes and lane changes with panache, Tesla was being spanked and sued by a California regulator for years of bad faith and broken promises over its Autopilot. The Cliff Notes version: Teslas still can’t drive themselves without human oversight. And I agree with experts who believe they never will (in current form), and certainly not safely, because of fundamental flaws in Autopilot’s design and philosophy.

Everyone who bought a car 12 months ago more than likely severely overpaid.

Agreed. Their interiors are meh and too simplistic
