I don’t understand why people sue to get a job?

Reading an article about a woman who was suing for wrongful termination to get her old job back.
Sure, if there are bad practices going on, suing may be necessary, but then, why do you demand a job out of it. Take the money and run.
If the company is forced to hire you, it’s not going to suddenly forget you sued them. While some coworkers may be sympathetic, they aren’t going to necessarily think the best of you. Your future with that company is surely going to be extremely limited.

First off, if I don't understand the title, I'm not wasting my time reading the rest, as I assume the writing will be just as suspect.

More often than not that's more of a technical thing in a lawsuit than someone actually wanting the job back. There are certainly legitimate reasons for wanting a job back such as if the person was in the right and wanting to take a stand for principle and dignity.

A wrongful termination suit is one thing. I get that. You got wrongfully fired from a job. Usually, folks want to get paid.
However, I've personally never seen someone sue o try to get a job back. Outside of being fired just before hitting a retirement marker, I couldn't imagine suing for a job back.

Though, they probably would never think of firing you again, so if you can survive the negativity you don't have to worry as much about job security.

Not necessarily the case all the time though. Some people due to get a job they’ve never had. Usually when someone who is qualified it gets looked over for someone who is less qualified for discriminationary practices.

Eh, sometimes it is more plausible than others.
In ADA or Rehab Act cases, for example, a lot of times there isn't a lot of ill will on either side. Litigation will often change that, but not always.
For federal jobs or huge bureaucratic employers, the situation will often be quite different than in a small or medium sized company. More opportunities to insulate yourself from the prior circumstances.

Not hostile, but from past experience with a situation with a sue to get the job person, everyone avoids them to avoid any future witness or worse additional court activity.
The rest of us have work to do, no time for that personal BS interfering with our own performance. Minimize all contact so as to minimize their interference in our performance/productivity. So in effect, isolate the infection and let nature run it's course in purging from the system.
