There really is a lot of truth to that.

Because people back then didn’t have the internet and couldn’t communicate with people online they actually had to leave the house and be with real live people to fill their need for social engagement. As a result it sounds cliche at this point I’d imagine but back then there was alot more "living in the moment". Instead of staring at a screen texting someone about something you’d actually go to where they were and talk with them in person.

Thank you for this.

I'm five minutes in & have seen pics of early Metallica, Iron Maiden, GNR, Venom, & Slayer. The kids today will never understand the work that was put into a wall of heavy metal band posters in your bedroom.
