I actually think he's very entertaining. I just don't think he's quite the visionary many think.

If the purpose of life is to extract as much money as possible from the public, Musk is very successful.

Disliking him getting funds from the government is one thing, but pretending the only think he’s accomplished is leeching tax money disingenuous.

You get the same "welfare" if you buy any electric vehicle from any company.

As a buyer, yes. But it's not the incentives that's the issue.

I'm far more interested in Telsa's powerwall than their vehicles though. If they can do what Musk has promised it would be a game changer a decade down the road.

I am highly skeptical though.

That's exactly what it was about on about page 3 or 4 of the thread.

The tax credits are available to anyone who buys a battery powered car or to companies who build with sustainable materials.

Now I have to downvote anything you post now just on principle.

Tax credits given to consumers are a totally different thing, and I wouldn't consider that corporate welfare necessarily.

The money Musk's companies have gotten directly from the government either at extremely low interest rates or as direct subsidies are my issues. Solar City basically committed fraud. Tesla now owns Solar City.

So you have beef with every car maker, most tech companies, and nearly all startups..... Or just Musk's companies?

But he's not the only one taking advantage of such credits.
He is just the whipping boy.

Well, I guess if all companies lie about the work they have to get subsidies fraudulently.

But yeah, cronyism is my biggest issue. Musk is just better at playing the game than others.

1) Solar City lied to the government to get welfare and had to pay a settlement of 29 million, far less than they profited from the feds.

This stemmed from acts before Musk purchased Solar City.

Seems like you didn't know that.

Yeah, lying to the government to get money is just retarded shite.

Something Musk didn't do, but Roger didn't realize, it seems.

Now. The merger was effected after the alleged conduct occurred. But you're somehow blaming Musk.

Again, irrational anger for some odd reason. I don't get it.

Musk helped start Solar City with his cousins, and was chairman. So yeah...he legitimately can be blamed.

You can repeat this a thousand times (like you already have) and it doesn't make it true.

I'm not the only one who's noticed. Dunson even made a "Musk must have run over your dog" comment.

Well, in virtually every thread you throw out the same tired line, as if it somehow validates your life to make someone angry.

I'll give you an adult tip, you can discuss things without being angry.
