I’ve lived in Farmerville, Houma, Metairie, and Mandeville, then moved my family out of state several years ago. Whenever we come home, we cringe. The roads, the litter, just the general aesthetic… it’s terrible. Beyond trashy.

And I live in Alabama, which isn’t far from the bottom.

I am failing to see the part where a war zone comes in to play in your post.

Thanks, I come back to visit my parents a few times a year and am unable to access the internet or phone conference. I appreciate the other peoples’ complaints.

Thanks for your input, you clearly are an idiot that doesn’t drive I-20. If you do drive I-20, which you don’t, than please go back to your mom’s basement.

I will take damn near any other bridge just to stay off that stretch of road.

That Huey Long wannabe Foster Campbell got AT&T’s attention when I had a problem with my landline. AT&T told me it would take 2-3 weeks to fix. After I contacted Foster, AT&T had it fixed in a few days.

I vouch for the OP reference to that stretch being worse than a warzone…way better highways in Baghdad than Shreveport.

Blame Foster Campbell all you want and you will be wrong. He may be a shite bird but you're pounding the wrong drum.

Back when Mary Landrieu was in the US Senate she cut a deal to vote for Obamacare in exchange for $80 million for LA to get rural fast speed internet. Our illustrious governor Piyush Jindal turned the money down. Would not accept it.

I checked his campaign report and Cox, Suddenlink, ATT, and all the ones I can't remember donated to him so he said screw anything free for the general, poor, rural public.

Agree. Everything I've seen about him has been him being pro-consumer and a PITA for the utilities. Google his name and rural internet and you'll find stories about him supporting a fiber-to-the-home broadband project for rural north LA areas.

I don't think putting a typical LA politician in there instead would help the consumer any more than Foster would. And he's just one vote on the PSC, so he can't waive a wand and make everything happen.

On I-20, a contract was announced in May 2023 to replace it through large stretches of Bossier and Shreveport over 2.5 years.

I-20 to get major overhaul in Bossier: Sections of the interstate in Shreveport also will be repaired

WTH are you taking about?..Bossier to Shreveport? Thanks for the specifics.
Are you talking about the roads? Cause it’s typically not a bad area. The roads need work, like all roads in every metro city in Louisiana.
Weird rant.

Foster Campbell is one of the biggest pieces of shite I have ever met and refuses to bring basic necessities(ie basic internet/cell service) to rural areas.

On this we definitely agree. I have a co-op for electric and they were trying to bring broadband through the power lines. It would have increased everyone’s bills about $6 a year and he shut it down saying that was too much of an increase for the people to bear.

Im sure it will take over 2.5 years. Will be in poor shape again 2.5 years after completion.

Just do like China and repair it it in 2.5 days every 2.5 months. Except for the bridge parts. Do them correctly.

If you are going the speed limit on i-20 from the racetrack to downtown shreveport you will catch air multiple times. I don’t drive it anymore but the kids love it. Lol

I’ve been on washed out dirt roads that were wider and smoother than the stretch of I-20 in Bossier from Industrial to Old Minden Road.

We just moved to Haughton. I took I-20 to work the first morning after we moved. Yeah, screw that. It feels like you’re going to hit the car next to you or fly off the road from the potholes from the midget aerial bombing raids.
