Just drove westbound on I-12 where it merges with I-10 heading towards LSU/downtown. I thought I might have been slipped some drugs this morning cause I had no idea they officially made the changes where you drive left under the eastbound overpass.

When did they officially make these changes?
I got a little spooked driving 70mph down an interstate road ive taken a thousand times in my life

Change was made in the last day I believe. This will ultimately be the permanent configuration which will allow for I-10 WB drivers to exit to College Dr without having to weave through I-12 WB drivers.

Don’t completely rule this possibility out. We’re still talking about the BR metro here.

I saw it described in the local BR news on Thursday and Friday.

But now I-12 WB drivers wanting to exit to College Dr will have to weave through I-10 WB drivers.
That re-configurayion makes no sense to me.

Temporarily. There will be dedicated College Dr exit lanes for westbound I-10 and I-12.

Still doesn't make sense. They could have left the current configuration and then added a new I-10 exit ramp?? I do not see why I-12 west has to fly over I-10 WB.

It keeps all the 18 wheelers and majority bridge traffic on the left side which is where it should be. It’s much smoother already

Must have been last night. I saw that the westbound traffic was terrible

It doesn't. I-10 West flies over like always.

Where? For what exit?

Overnight or early morning this morning. This will allow 10W traffic to get to College and Acadian with far less fuss.

The onramp from Jefferson to 12W is supposed to be closed for something like 4-6 weeks as part of all this. Eventually there will be a lane going directly from 12 to College.

Right now the issues are getting from the new route of 12 to College and Acadian. No idea if the eventual full route will allow easy access from 12 (or even 10) to Acadian.

Looks like there’s already a wreck in the area.
