According to Lee, no one in either vehicle was properly buckled up. He said Aisha Philson and the 12-year-old suffered serious injuries. He added Daigle had minor injuries.

Not to sound callous, but how in the hell does someone drive around with children in the car not properly restrained? They most likely would have survived the crash.

I notice black kids in particular are often unbuckled.

I see it all the time. Not long ago I was at a gas station and saw a POS on 22" rims pull up. A younger black guy got out holding a baby that couldn't have been more that 6 months old. He was driving around with the kid in his lap.

You should have been happy he was in his kid's life. It's a start.

Folks don't want to pay $100 for a child seat.

I know the drunk driver will catch the brunt of the charges but shouldn't Aisha get charged with negligence?

She is going to wake up every day for the rest of her life thinking about what happened, and what part she played in the kid's death, in this particular case that is probably punishment enough.

I tend to agree but she is still responsible for her own kids. If it was a family friend driving her kids I am sure more people would want the family friend punished

frick her. she didn't have them properly restrained to begin with. Doubt she thinks much about them after the trial and attention fades.

Are we really bashing the lady who got rear ended by a drunk fricking lowlife who killed her kids?

Yeah, they should be buckled up no doubt, but you know what's more egregious? Speeding and weaving through traffic while drunk, killing innocent people. The kids wouldn't be ejected if not for a piece of shite like this guy.

Drunk redneck had to be back in time to pound some more beers, frick the black family for being in his way, amirite?!

I somewhat agree but YOU have the DUTY to protect your own children. This time it was a drunk douche next time it will be a blow out or a pot hole. I don't make my kids buckle in case there's a drunk a-hole or bc shite may happen....I make them buckle bc there ARE drunk assholes and shite does happen. that being said the douche deserves no mercy and she deserves whatever anguish she'll have to live with from now on. Senseless loss of young life that was preventable.

3 kids under 12 with 1 being an infant and not one of them is restrained

neither was the driver

how in the hell do you allow that to happen as an adult/parent?

So, different situation but same end result: Dad cleaning his gun and it accidentally goes off killing his 12 month old that is sleeping in a nearby crib. Should the dad be charged?
