This isn’t a traffic is awful in Baton Rouge post although it is terrible right now.

What is the deal with Bluetooth connections disconnect in this area? I’ve been in several different vehicles and they all disconnect in this area.

Some of the highway equipment is used to monitor for drug mules and check the location of your recent/main contacts. It’s an advance on the Stingray Tech.

Apparently this is a big thing. It's all over Reddit. Bluetooth and Sirius radio signal.

From a 2022 post

Bluetooth spec is 10 meters at relatively very low power, someone is overpowering it with a transmission at a close adjacent frequency.

Likely Microwave Relay antenna(s) used for ethernet hops between a companies nearby offices that's splattering within the Bluetooth and WiFi spectrum.

In other words, the interfering signal is "out of tune" and creating a high power interfering signal in the 2.5 ghz range. This is a very simplified explanation.

The FCC used to have a "sniffer" van with spectrum analyzers based in Baton Rouge, equipped with receiving equipment to find all types of RF interfering signals. I can't find a local number, call their national office in D.C. at 1-888-225-5322 and register a complaint.

FCC seriously takes licensees operating outside their legally permitted frequency and power spectrum. Good luck if you decide to pursue, it may take a while to get through the bureaucracy.

But, once done they'll take you seriously and follow up. They love finding this type of stuff and dropping the hammer.

There is a cell tower right there that is misconfigured and seems to flood everything. It also blocks my Sirius xm signal.

The trolls on the OT are frocking out of control. I'm all for free speech, but every time someone asks serious question the trolls chime in. The schtick is getting old

Would always disconnect my wireless carplay without fail except for a stretch of about two weeks. I thought maybe it had been fixed but then it started back up. Is there anyway to get someone to fix this?

Sounds like something an agent might say.

Happens around Jefferson/Corporate to me as well, which i suppose the same general area as it relates to signal coverage, etc.

This happens to me every morning anear the Racetrac on Airline and Tom Dr. I used to think it was Racetrac since there are no other businesses nearby but now I think it is the red light cameras or something else in the intersection. It happens right in the middle of the intersection, not in front of the gas station.

I've never had an issue with my bluetooth connectivity in that area and I travel both quite a bit.

Have had issues around the Benny's on Perkins all the way to the Interstate for years. Actually switched to wired Carplay specifically because I pass through that area multiple times a day.
