TBH the last few people that I know that have had new 7 series in the past 5 years, 2 of them were bought back under lemon law. Gremlins galore. I probably wouldn't buy one of these pricey hyundais new but at 2 years old and $35k they will be a bargain especially if they have then Hyundai 10 year warranty.

People said the same thing when Toyota started Lexus and the LS400. Those people shut up in a hurry.

But I also realize that many people looking to spend this kind of money in a car are in it for the brand more than anything else.

And that makes them idiots? Is there something wrong with going with the known quantity compared to the unknown?

you might as well splurged an extra 10k and get a nice BMW, Mercedes, or even Tesla Model S70

Why? To be a pretentious a-hole?

You'll notice I've said nothing of a 7 series. You couldn't pay me to drive one of those after everything I've read about them Well, you could probably pay me.

It's pretty human to have preferences IMO.
It is more than a preference when you say "I am not buying a Hyundai" without any hesitation simply on the name, without doing any research, especially when that name is considerably cheaper than its competition while still grading out as an equal, that makes you irrational to me.

I don't agree with you there. Sounds like a textbook definition of a preference.

People don't buy luxury cars for their reliability.

I dont know how you can call it a preference when you dont even know shite about shite about the Hyundai. You dont even know what you "prefer."

In what regard? Just on tech packaged in?

In terms of performance anything sort of the M5 engine won't beat the v8 from Hyundai.

So someone can't have a preference without having personal experience with all the options? Gonna have to own a lot of vehicles to make an informed, not irrational decision then.

I have never been in a new(er) one. The classic ones, man, they just don't get any better than that for a car lover.

Wrong.

I have and will.

(To me) BMW & Jags are the most aesthetically pleasing vehicles out there but-

Lexus wins.

A little research from where? How do I know what is and isn't rational without actually owning the vehicle? Should I trust you?
