I have not. Heard the Quality Control is top notch from Turkey. So awesome to send all that revenue back to Turkey instead of keeping it right here locally.

I visited the Hyundai ship yard in Korea in the 1996 period. Massive facility that pushed out 45 ships a year of all types of service. 25000 welders at that one location. Litterly was an assembly line process. If they are announcing 1500 jobs, then that is not a shipyard,,,,,,initially

It’s going to be built on a former sugar mill site. A few months ago there was a story about the family of an a sugar mill town fighting a major project. Can’t find that story but does anybody know if it is the same piece of land?

Donaldsonville area maybe? Great news for the state.
I never built a steel mill but I imagine there will be a shite ton of machine shop and fabrication work needed. Great for our state indeed!

Safety equipment, piping supplies, fire extinguishers, equipment rentals, I can go on and on..
Those 1,500 jobs that will work at the plant, will mean 10,000 jobs for the local economy.

From what Ive seen the past month, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai are all starting/changing business plans in the United States to keep production stable. They are also creating jobs for Americans.
I wonder why...

More likely that too many people will show up trying to get greased off the construction contracts and piss the aisians off enough to pick their ball up and go to Texas with it.
They tried that with Shintech 30 years ago. They just moved to another location down the road. WBR parish really screwed themselves.

This can be a great win if it is handled correctly by Louisiana.
I hope LSU can get involved to develop companion curriculums around the technologies at the plant.
If you look at the various auto plants throughout the South, most all have university operations nearby.

I have every confidence Landry will mess this deal up with his performance politics.

Sad that they always build these cancer factories in backwards economically depressed places like ascension parish
Yeah! Surely choosing that location had nothing to do with access to the largest industrialized river system in the Western Hemisphere, right?

I have to tell you, this isn't going to be like an average manufacturing facility. A steel mill is a whole different ball game. It takes brutal men to do the jobs.
Guys that have been around oil rigs, pipeline operations, power plants, shipyards, heavy industry. Guys that love explosions and fire, because that's what you will deal with all day.

I guess these factories do require a place to dump their toxic waste
Sad that yall look at a river and wonder how much you can pollute it rather than as a thriving ecosystem

I’m sure the steel mill needs a gender and dei studies department
