More interesting question is does the draft include women now that they're allowed to hold every single job in the military that a man can?
I hope not. No need to double down on a stupid decision.

We could take anyone on even with our downsized army.
WHen you add in that we are allied with nearly every one of military powers 2-10, others don't stand a chance.

Would the US forgive my student loans if I served? If not...

Not many are eligible for health reasons. One of the top disqualifiers today is everybody and their mother being on ADD/ADHD meds

If the war is a legitimate war, many would flee, likely more than the number that fled in the past.

Not as many as the baby boomer generation in the 60's

I agree. For a draft to occur, our technological advantage would have to be negated.
As far as 9/11 goes, the attack would have to be like Pearl Harbor more than 9/11. The death toll for both were similar but the situation militarily were vastly different.
Had we invaded all of the nations that the 9/11 hijackers came from (along with where their leaders were harbored) we would have then had to institute a draft.
Saudi, Lebanon, UAE, Egypt, and Afghanistan

Depends on what I'm fighting for, being in a free country should mean you get to have the choice if you want to risk your life for your country. Anyone who is for a draft should probably support any type of big government while they're at it

While i would not be a draft dodger, i can't see an instance where we would need more bodies to fight a war now a days when someone in Tampa can control a drone that can bomb a city and then go home to his family, ask his kids how their day at school was, practice baseball with his kid in his backyard, have dinner as a family, watch some tv, do his wife, go to sleep, and then do it all over again.
You need people on he ground in order to win wars. Drones would be all but useless in this type of war. They would be shot down like mosquitos on a Louisiana summer night

That's a bold statement not knowing what the war was about. I personally would have no problem fighting overseas in order to prevent the war from coming to the US. Would say the same for my children if they were the ones drafted. Of course, my opinion changes if its a war over money and greed and shady politics. Im talking about a war that is to fight a true evil that could come here and kill millions of our innocent civilians

You mean like 9/11?
Except that after Pearl Harbor we attacked the country that had attached us. After 9/11 we invaded one country that served as a safe haven for terrorists but was already a failed state and we toppled a dictator in another country that had nothing at all to do with 9/11 (and was actually a bulwark against Islamism) while leaving the country that most of the hijackers had come from completely unscathed.

Because the draft helped us in Korea and Vietnam right? More numbers doesn't guarantee anything. It's strategy and technology that wins you wars.

No you don't. You just need to know who you're fighting and where they are, then you tell them "hey, back the frick off or this will happen"
and then we bomb everyone and they bomb us and the Walking Dead happens, all the while we look for Denzel to find the last copy of the Koran or Torah or Bible so we can start brainwashing the remaining people on the planet again.

I have a unikidney or superkidney...it never fully separated during development as a fetus. They wouldn't take me the first time.

Just tell all the draft eligible millenials that this will be some type of XBOX modern warfare contest and you'll get all the folks you'd ever need.

Yeah, well we've been in Korea, Vietnam, the middle east, Somalia and really done nothing but lose American lives. I'm tired of fighting everyone else's wars with my tax money and on the backs of young men. It's time for the world to pick up the slack.

Once you factor in the numbers already in our active armed forces, reserves, national guard, and the ones who already served and are now civilians but can still be recalled in an emergency we'll have plenty of numbers.
And then you add in an increased push for volunteers with guaranteed hazard pay and a just cause and there won't ever be a need for another draft

Yup, the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima were to prevent a full scale invasion of the mainland. That would have resulted in a much longer and far deadlier war
