Hypothetical Plane Crash (SBLIX related)

Purely hypothetical, as the recent plane crash was a tragedy. It just got me thinking though...
Lets say one of the Super Bowl teams had a crash similar to the Marshall football plane crash incident. Would they still play the Super Bowl?
Would they make the team ownership (assuming they are not on the plane) field a team with practice players and free agents?

I highly doubt it.

should give it a try(not the airplane crash part, ) the NFL appears to be hell bent on the Chiefs winning it

They would select fans from the seats and by passers from the streets to suit up and play their hearts out.

I was going to say... Either way the Chiefs win. Either in Memoriam, by forfeit, or by crushing the newly rostered team.

They canceled a critical regular season game because a player had to be revived on the field. It would take a lot less than a plans crash to cancel the Super Bowl

What a stupid fing question

How do some of you folks go through life?

I'm not sure about this. On the one hand, it would be really odd watching a bunch of dead guys playing a football game. However, I think I would put my money on the zombies if it came to pass.
In reality, I'm pretty certain the game would be canceled. At the very least it would be delayed with the option of having the division runner up taking the place of the deceased team. However, playing that game, in my opinion, would be in very poor taste.

Early candidate for dumbest thread of the year.

Would decline.

Game would be cancelled.
Team involved in the crash probably has to suspend operations for a year or two and concessions would be made via the draft and FA to help the team rebuild at an appropriate time.
NO would jump the line to host again.
I’m not sure what the immediate result is. Do you award the championship to the other team? It would suck to lose your only chance at a ring or trophy, even if it’s because of a tragic event.

A better scenario for a Super Bowl in New Orleans is what if the team gets murdered.

Yes abosultely they would. Too much money to be made from commercials, halftime show and the people that already bought the tickets.
It would probably go down as the most watch Superbowl just because people would be curious as to who the other team would play against and all of thet tributes.
If the situation was to happen, the team would play who ever lost the AFC/NFC championship game.

How do you plan on fielding a team?

Am I the only one who read the thread title and thought of Hans Blix?
