My guess for us, St. Tammany, is closed tomorrow and Thursday, Friday depends on the power situation

I’m convinced this will be happening in Miami at the end of the year.

So uh, I’ve never seen people less worried about a cat 1 or more headed for New Orleans directly.

Should I not be worried?

Worry about heavy winds for a few hours and widespread power outages for a week or more in NOLA.

2020 is so fricked already, I don’t even care anymore.

In the words of John Mullaney:

“Do you know when you have one of those days were you just think ‘whatever. this might as well happen. My life is so fricking weird anyway.’”

Three days with bad weather and no power might legitimately destroy what’s left of inner city New Orleans. We’ll see.

5 minutes of reading these threads should answer that question for you.

“How’s it looking off HWY 30 at 7:00 PM on Thursday”

“Should I cancel my flight out of MSY”

“How fricked are we”

“So we’re getting a nothing burger here”

The majority of the people I text with have no clue there is even a storm

At least if it knocks my power out, I can open a few windows and drink comfortably in the dark.

It's a little bit of "Boy Who Cried Wolf" unfortunately. When you've been told by the local news on 3 other occasions this year that YOU'RE GETTING A DIRECT HIT OMGZ!!! and barely get a drop of rain people start tuning you out.

We're just lucky this is the one we get instead of any of Laura/Sally/Delta

WWL was using Hurricane Cindy as an analogy.

A lot of downed tree limbs in the city but wasn't a catastrophe.

At least the temperatures will be decent for the foreseeable future. Sleeping with the windows cracked with cool weather in the pitch dark and no noise for a couple of nights might turn out to be kind of nice.

Did I hear correctly this morning that peak winds will only last for two to three hours since it will be hauling arse? That is good. At least the worst will be over before bedtime.
