I'm adding you to the knuckle check list for the flagrant use of the word "mod".

Oh I get that, but that's why you're seeing that path in these runs. The ridge won't allow it to go north.

It usually is until there's a real storm to be worried about, mods lurk, and the thread gets more self-policey

Ah...thanks for the heads-up, friend!

I'll mind my manners...don't want the mods coming after me.

You can see it try to gain latitude on approach to landfall, but it just can't.

ETA: Not that you can take much from it. In 24 hours since the system split it has gone from the frenulum area of Florida to our unsecured Southern border.

If that motherfricker does a turn and only drops rain 10 miles from here, then I'm gonna cross the border and kick its arse myself.

I think it is time, Rummy, that you just move to where the rain is. Might I interest you in a nice place in Flagstaff?

This thread is a shite show

I recommend anchoring of these seasonal threads and only start a new tropical thread once a week, or one new thread per invest/tropical storm/hurricane

Example:
"Tropical update: two areas of concern, 10% chance of formation. " would be one thread. If said areas of concern become invests, then change the name of the thread and continue it. Otherwise, anchor it.

Reason is, it's somewhat interesting to look back and read early discussions on particular storms that have become much more severe.

Eh...it's either this becomes a shite show, or some other thread becomes a shite show.

We've done so many over the years, starting with my initial Katrina thread, that we've found we have to have an observation thread.

As you know - once a storm reaches a certain strength or heads in a specific direction (usually TX, LA, MS, AL...frick FL), then a specific thread will be made for that storm.

When shite starts going sideways things straighten up pretty quickly. That's just how it is.

Ha! I don't even own a bike. Plus, he would mop the floor with me. In the lore of weather message boards, two names tower above all others, Wes Junker from Eastern WX (now American WX, which sucks) for winter weather and wxman57 for tropical weather.

He's an absolute calculated beast in tropical meteorology. He gets hammered on by the group think posters there because they think he downplays everything.
