Hurricane Prepping: Let's talk Food...

Bottled Water is obviously a no brainer, but what does the OT keep for their personal chefs, gardners and in-house golf pros when their shanties down by the River run out of power during Hurricanes and transportation and basic services like groceries, etc are not available?
Do you buy a bunch of Beenie Weenies beforehand for your peasant...I mean...employees? I actually have a case of MRE's but I recently heard that Freeze Dried Food has a far longer shelf life.
I'm all about cost savings...so I come here asking: Tell me more about Freeze Dried Foods, or in general, what do you keep in case of Hurricanes for the serfs that work your OT Baller Estate for you while you're at the Plant on the OT Baller Turn-around?

Normal food.

generator runs a freezer which holds bags of ice and food, 6 large ice chests hold other food and drinks, 4 Kentwood water cooler bottles in storage, canned everything, and MRE's just in case shite lasts for weeks

Guess the admins didn't care what the OT thought and brought it over here.
Oh and I don't keep anything. If the power went out for 7+ days, I still don't think I could clear out my freezer.

Stupid decision. The F&D Board isn't talking about freeze dried food. It's talking about bone-in ribeyes and piquant's...
Had I wanted a recipe for cooking without power or water or some sh!t, I'd have come here. This is for Doomsday prepper types, not F&D Board enthusiasts.

Go with backpacker food if you want freeze dried. Much more palatable than MRE's. Some of it is pretty damn great tasting.

My freezer is stocked each June with gumbo, spaghetti, and other big meals I cook for hurricane season. My family doesn't go hungry during hurricanes. When we don't have a storm, we don't cook the entire month of October.

I don't stock up on food. My gas stove still works. And I'm not going to eat an MRE. Power is out for 7 days max. It isn't a crisis.

I learned during Gustav it takes seven days of no power to defrost and eat all the meat in our freezer. Steaks first so during Isaac we fed the neighborhood steaks on night two. We have two whole sliced ribeyes frozen in two and four packs right now. Everything in the freezer can cook on the grill or a propane burner with a cast iron pot. I don't eat beenie weenies or mres.
