GFS 10 days out has a tropical storm hitting Southern California so there's that.

That wouldn't be a good spot to hit but Louisiana hasn't seen much rain since Harvey. Been kinda dry honestly. If it hits Louisiana as a named hurricane/TS then that's 3 storms that hit us this year. I'd say we met out quota for the next few years mother nature.

Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
200 PM EDT Tue Oct 3 2017
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Satellite images and surface observations indicate that a broad
area of low pressure has formed over the southwestern Caribbean
Sea. Environmental conditions appear generally conducive for
development, and this system could become a tropical depression
within the next few days while it drifts northwestward to northward
across the northwestern Caribbean and adjacent land areas and into
the Gulf of Mexico by the weekend. Regardless of development, this
system will likely produce heavy rains over portions of Central
America during the next few days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent.

4 years ago Thursday they had a system move into the gulf and it went from a storm to a cat 4 in about 2 days - then it died way down before coming ashore - was the day of my wedding in Mobile lol.,
PSYCH OUT! The Meteorological Practical Joke of the Year! Don't worry, though. Mother Nature only messes with the people she really likes.

We'll have to see the timing and if it's even strong enough to have an effect.

Breaking: Florida says they can't play the LSU game due to safety concerns.
Florida would play this LSU team in a Wal Mart parking lot in the middle of a hurricane.

Upgraded to 60% too as it heads closer to really warm water. Hopefully it just fizzles out as it passes the warmest parts. I kinda had a feeling that thing moving like it would to see intensification. Will be interesting to see what it does based on the Euro.
