Everyone is in a flood zone. The difference is, the degree of risk.

So I don’t know if this is good or not but I just watched Jim Cantore’s live segment in person on Orange Beach.
I think we’re going to bail out of here about noon/1pm.

You good. Cantore is a puss that only hangs in winds less than 50

The storm surge map looks good for us and this thing will be gone by 8-9am tomorrow.
So if we can ride out 5 hours of 60+ mph winds I think we’re good

If that’s where you live, you could always go park your car in the target parking garage if you are concerned. I doubt it floods bad right there though

While I don't like the direct hit, I do like how fast it's moving. Hopefully, it will be like ripping off a bandaid.

Fack. I went to sleep and nola was in the clear

Storm stopped looking pretty at least. It was getting a bit worrisome late last night

Favorable conditions for that

Fox 8 nola keeps saying their models are showing a lot more west than the nhc track

What? Nah more like a few hours. That convection was blowing out like all the others.

Good thing he's moving so fricking fast. He could be a serious problem for someone if he had time to develop.
I am still concerned about the projected turn. That was based on him hitting the mouth of the Mississippi Sunday night. At this speed he's going to get there 18-20 hours ahead of time. I hope whatever feature that is going to turn him is also moving ahead of schedule.

I live in Gulf Shores about 5 miles north of the gulf, what should I be expecting? The "wind speed probability" map shows me getting 80-90 mph winds. Haven't seen the storm surge map yet, but am I in for a ride?

And it still is.
I went to sleep and the storm was doing pretty much what the NHC said it would do. I wake up and it's still doing what the NHC said it would do. Those guys are pretty good.
