And now I'm officially afraid.

My in-laws were evacuated from their facility in Venice - to one in Bradenton. Which is due east of the Sarasota - Bradenton airport.

When things calm down, please find out if the Desoto Beach Club is OK. My in-laws were evacuated there from their facility in Venice. I think they went from bad to worse.

It’s incredible how large some of the tornadoes have been today. Usually tropical system tornadoes aren’t especially large.

77 is the highest reported at the airport so far but you are probably getting or about to get stronger soon

NW eyewall popping some 120+ mph radar returns. Tampa, gonna miss the surge but likely to get prolonged strong winds.

Whole north side gonna get a little enhancement as the extratropical processes begin in earnest.

Just after made this, we started to get some much higher winds. Power is flickering on and off a lot. Don’t like that.


I think we are getting some of the outer eye now here

The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a

* Extreme Wind Warning for...
Manatee County in west central Florida...
Pinellas County in west central Florida...
Hillsborough County in west central Florida...

* Until 930 PM EDT.

* At 635 PM EDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
extreme winds, associated with the eyewall of Hurricane Milton,
were moving onshore along a line extending from 6 miles southwest
of South Bradenton to 25 miles southwest of Anna Maria to 52 miles
southwest of Saint Armands Key, moving northeast at 30 mph. THIS
IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION!

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Treat these imminent extreme winds as if a tornado
was approaching and move immediately to the safe room in your
shelter. Take action now to protect your life!
