Can we start banning people from the thread who argue about evacuating? Please shut the frick up
15 minutes before an NHC update and people are acting an arse?
Weird.
You know, how its like clockwork.

Where did your brother live in the burg? We lived over close to Purvis at the time off Old 11

We need a weather board where the only discussion there is about the actual hurricane itself. Then on the OT we can have a thread about evacuations, school closings, breast milk and whatever the hell else people want to talk and/or whine about.

This shite is gonna be biblical.
If this were August you’d probably be right.
The temp in Tampa is in the low 70s — by landfall it’ll be in the upper 60s — the storm is producing hurricane winds only 25 miles from center (not max winds, hurricane)— it’ll will also continue to weaken leading to landfall due to heavy shearing from the cold front — as always, people along the coast and in Evac zones should leave — but there’s enough catastrophizing going around for clicks and attention already — this will not be Andrew.

My aunt's neighbor in Pass Christian stayed for Katrina - actually, several neighbors did. The reasoning was "We didn't flood in Camille", like that qualified as a lifelong shield of invulnerability.
Well, it flooded. Even the places that didn’t flood in Camille. Misery ensued ...
This was our reasoning for staying in BSL as well. Camille didn't even come close to getting water in the house. Had 8ft during Katrina.
My mom and I took a drive down beach boulevard the day before the storm - she said it might be the last time we ever saw it like that. I thought she was being dramatic, but she was correct.
