I'm looking forward to that game personally. Based on what I've seen in SEC right now I think Bama is the best team but this game is going to be a good measuring stick. I think LSU is dangerous especially if they get healthy.

The issue is people traveling to Tuscaloosa. If the track remains, the tornados will be away from Tuscaloosa and the system will be in Tennessee by mid afternoon Saturday.

You’re overreacting.

you Alabama folk sure think highly of your infrastructure

If this trend continues this looks like more a problem for Georgia than Alabama. At worst it’s an east Alabama problem.

I have dealt with a whole lot of hurricanes in my long lifetime.
I can tell you without a doubt, it's the aftermath of the downed trees, the downed power lines, the flooding, the spinoff tornado damage and the power outages, inland as well as coastal, that is a nightmare. Just ask the fine people of the Carolinas who are still recovering and were hundreds of miles away from the impact zone of the hurricane.
So, I can't imagine that the local authorities would plan to allow a game for Saturday night, not knowing if any of those things are going to be severe, then try to cancel the last minute after people were on their way in those conditions.
But, hey, I could be wrong. We will see if i'm overreacting...

How accurate is the NAM model? Because the 18z run is a wild shift.

I’ve dealt with inland hurricanes as well. In Tuscaloosa

It keeps pushing eat and putting Tuscaloosa on the western side. It’ll be out of the state by 4:00 and even if people in east Alabama have some damage, it isn’t cause to overreact.

It shouldn't really be used for hurricanes.

Shift west by the GFS. Mobile direct hit.

NAM made landfall in Plaquemines Parish.

All 18z models were fed hurricane hunter data.

It seems to get ripped open pretty quickly on the last couple of GFS runs. It also looks like NHC has forecast it weakening quicker/sooner than earlier forecasts with it forecast to be a Depression now probably by the time it gets to Bham.

My favorite part of Hurricanes is when the rest of the world finds out that, yes, we do build our homes on stilts/pylons.

Why would you build you house on stilts?

Because of HURRICANES, dumbass.
