6z Euro keeps it over the mouth of Miss. Spaghetti from Hammond to Gulfport

We have a condo reserved starting the 10th through the 17th on Okaloosa Island. We haven't modified plans yet, but this will probably result in a delay of a day. We have insurance, so less of an impact than some others I have seen on here. I hope and pray for the whole gulf coast that it isn't a disaster.

It is strange seeing that and the western edge of the nhc cone at BSL, with how good the euro has been in the past. I guess it's struggling with this setup

Where’s the wind shear? I don’t like the way this thing looks. Especially now that we are in October.
Structure looks great on satellite.

Woah, the far eastern ensemble from the EURO is where the NHC forecast track is. That's a bit of an eyebrow raiser in my opinion. The EURO being so far off from the NHC is odd, but the NHC knows what the frick they're doing so I don't know how much I'd doubt them.
Also, I find it interesting that the far western ensemble does a loopty loop near Lafayette. I wonder what it's seeing in the atmosphere to want to stall like that. Obviously that's a single outlier, but still interesting.

This is very odd for sure. It’s almost like the euro is forecasting a completely different storm.

There are likely also insurance considerations which drive decision making.
If you can’t insure it you are exposing the university to a lot of liability.

That green outlier model going back to Mexico?
Let's go with that one.
Let's go with that one.

Before the AI models two years ago, we'd all be in panic mode with the EURO showing that.

I was promised a cool front this week. Louisiana weather says " Sorry, best I can do is a Cat 2 Hurricane"

Never proclaim RI in a developing system based on satellite alone.
Also, it looks like the 06z Euro/ICON did better than the American models on the short-term forecast.

Let's hope the EURO isn't doing a better job with the long-term forecast and the winner is instead the German ICON.
Holy shite... did I really just say I'm hoping the ICON is right?

Looks like the Euro has the straigh N turn a couple hundred miles to the west of other ensembles. Guess we will know in next 12-18 hrs if the track continues ene or goes more ne and/or slows from 8mph

We should never hope the germans are right
