Take it from a fireman, it's hard enough to do this from on top. It will take a healthy person to do this from within. Shallower pitch will be extremely hard. That person better hope the water isn't rising too fast.
I'd start cutting as soon as I got up there.
You guys don't carry a sawzall? I know if I was planning on getting stuck in my attic I am bringing my sawzall.

If you have a gable roof it's not that hard to kick off the siding on one of the ends from the attic. If you have a hip roof well I can't help you

If it fails to make a west coast land fall does it strengthen or still weaken due to the shear.
NHC thinks shear will be a bitch regardless, Irma's weakening past 36-48 hours seems pretty set.

I'm reading this as "if Irma continues to wobble west, she will not hit Florida's West coast aka somewhere further west."
Please tell me I'm wrong
He's saying the geography of Florid doesn't leave a ton of room for error for a west coast landfall. He's not suggesting Mobile is in play.

Nope. Better have a better plan
Kayaks. Fishing kayaks that can carry 500lbs and you and your pets.

Maybe you do, but I know how to use my sawzall. Plunge cut! (And I have a cordless circular saw. The real problem is making sure you have your tools and a stack of charged batteries in the attic.)

Secondary eye wall is starting to take over.

Not if you know how to properly use one!

When I went into work at noon today, I would have thought that she would be further away from Cuba by now.

My dad was friends with a guy that had to put his wife and kids in the attic of hus house in St Bernard Parish to escape rising flood water during Hurricane Betsy. I'm don't remember how he busted through, but he did and wen the winds subsided some they moved outside onto the roof. They were plucked off the roof by a guy with a boat.
Also, when they moved onto the roof, he saw his neighbors body caught up in a tree on his property. He swam to the tree and discovered he was in fact dead.
