Opinions and gut feelings aren't wanted here, facts are what this thread is for

No it isn't. 5 days ago this was hitting the Atlantic side of SC.[/quote Where was the west side of the cone?
[quote]It's amazing how much ego you 'experts' have.
You want validation that you guess right a week or more ago?
Point me to your entry. I'll agree and we can move on.

Hard to tell for sure, but it does seem like the center is starting to take a slow, slightly NW motion

Just a differing of opinion
The differing opinions are fine, but there is quite a bit of factual information that is being questioned as well, and the bickering stems from there.
On another note, the recon plane is about to make its pass through the center of Irma. We'll know more about the pressure dropping shortly.

Use the NHC forecast. Using the noodles is a good way to get yourself killed.
Good indicators!!

So what does this mean?
Do you see the counterclockwise circulation in that circle?
That flow will help pick Irma up to her north and eventually to the NW around the flow into northern Alabama.

Pretty sure it was an alter.

Again, here's my problem with the cone. If the cone says here's the central track and here are the outermost boundaries of that track ...... then shouldn't the track just move within the cone?
What's the point of a cone, if the whole cone moves?

You listen to them because they are on point so far
What is your goal in this thread?

So what does this mean?
Irma is riding the edge of a big dome of high pressure over the Atlantic. High pressures have a clockwise rotation.
Irma has been to the south side of the high this entire time, providing a dominate western flow that she has been riding. On the western edge the flow starts to move north. Hurricanes want to move north all things being equal as well.
Further helping it is the counter-clockwise flow off that swirl on the central gulf coast. The air moving around it will be pushing on Irma from south to north, providing upper level support for a north push.
It's why the north turn is predicted to happen in the next 12-24 hours.

If you're seriously looking for an answer, I answered you when you asked this question last time.
