slight movement north doesn't say it's actually going north yet...

So if your an evacuee from Miami and you went to Tallahassee thinking you were safe based on previous predictions, you wouldn't be pissed that now Miami will be mostly spared and now your evacuation spot is in the crosshairs?
???? Do you not see the Storm Surge Warnings for Miami?????

So if your an evacuee from Miami and you went to Tallahassee
Too close to cone projections.

I'm in the panhandle and it's been inching closer to us every update until low and behold we are now in the cone we were never in before...
Since my previous post was deleted calling you out while you're allowed to troll, maybe this will stay. The panhandle has been in the cone since the cone reached the panhandle.

Yes this is from the current NOAA2 Rec flight.
...and this link will bring me to an updated image the next flight, Yez? (Going to save the link and take screenshots for reference if that is the case)
I really like using this Wind Map to follow a storms progression.
Not sure if it's based entirely on formulas or if it's algorithms in conjunction with sensors/monitors... It always corresponds pretty accurately with what they are reporting on TV in real time. Like right now it's showing Marathon getting sustained winds of 35.3mph

Looks like The Southernmost Point is about to go under.
Water came up fast.

Bingo.
For four days now the projection has been that this thing would turn north sometime today. For four fcking days we've had people on here asking when it would turn north. It's not like they are even following along at all.

I'd personally understand they were considering the extreme downside risk of not evacuating Miami for a major hurricane aiming at South Florida. It's damned if you do and damned if you don't here. If it does hit Miami and you didn't evacuate, you get the "why didn't they evacuate" and if they do and it isn't as bad as expected you get the "they always overblow everything, blah blah".
The weather is always a game of possible outcomes and you weigh the probability of a bad outcome with the cost of that bad outcome. Folks in Miami shouldn't take the wrong lessons assuming it does hit the west coast. They will, instead of take happiness in it not being the disaster it could be.

They are still calling for Miami to get 70-90 mph winds.
The blue shed shrugs.

If I'm going to be pissed, I'd be pissed at myself for not paying attention. If you're in the cone, you don't evacuate to another spot in the cone unless you're just trying to get off the coast.
